The Pomona Auto Club was heating up today with both the temperature and Red Bull Straight Rhythm. From the time riders first hit the track, it was clear that there would be plenty of challenges and options on the half-mile-long supercross rhythm section. With the heat reaching into triple digits, riders did their best to lay down their quickest course times.
In the Open Class, James Stewart was able to top the field, clocking a 50.766 on his Yoshimura Suzuki. Of course, with the bracket system, his first matchup for Red Bull Straight Rhythm will be 16th place seed Scott Champion. Check out the full bracket below.
In the 250 Class, Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin took the top seed with a 51.849 ahead of some close competition with his new teammate Justin Hill coming in with the second spot.
Tomorrow is looking promising for some interesting matchups. But the presumed faster riders will not necessarily come out with the advantage in the unique head-to-head competition.
